How does a remote orthodontic consultation work?
You order your Smile Kit, send Dr. Rooz a video of your teeth, and he sends back a video with personalized treatment recommendations. When you move forward, you'll come in clinic for records and to start treatment. Then your progress is monitored remotely through weekly scans.
What's a Smile Kit?
A small Grin scope that attaches to your phone so you can send Dr. Rooz a video of your smile from home.
How do I do the scan? Will I know what to do?
Detailed instructions come in your kit, and the Grin app walks you through it step by step. Most patients finish in under a minute.
How does Dr. Rooz monitor my progress?
Dr. Rooz reviews your initial scan, then monitors your progress through weekly video scans you send via your Grin scope.
Why is the virtual consultation $40?
The $40 covers your Smile Kit, including the Grin scope we ship to your home.
Who is Dr. Rooz?
Dr. Rooz Khosravi, DMD, PhD, MSD, is a dual board-certified orthodontist (AAO + EBAO) and Clinical Associate Professor of Orthodontics at the University of Washington. Owner of two orhtodontic practices and specializes in clear aligners.
Will I get to talk to Dr. Rooz directly?
Yes. Before treatment, communication is asynchronous, you send a video and he sends one back with recommendations. Once you start treatment, you'll meet Dr. Rooz in person at your first clinic visit.
Do you accept FSA / HSA?
Yes, we accept both.
Can I see Dr. Rooz in person if something goes wrong?
Yes, you can always schedule an apointment to the clinic and meet with Dr. Rooz directly.
Are you using the Invisalign brand?
Yes, we work exclusively with Invisalign.
How is 425 Clear Aligners different from other teledentistry companies?
Most teledentistry companies use one-size-fits-all plans without an actual orthodontist. We personalize every plan with Dr. Rooz, a dual board-certified orthodontist. You meet him in person at the start of treatment, and he monitors your treatment remotely, having you come only when necessary.
Does wearing aligners hurt?
Mild soreness during the first 10 days as your teeth adjust is common but it shouldn't be painful. If it is, come in clinic so we can check what's going on.
How many hours do I need yo wear my aligners?
20 to 22 hours per day. Take them out only to eat.
